Pharos Mining Consultants (PMC) is a boutique mining consultancy with a global presence. Through our headquarters in Brisbane Australia and wholly owned subsidiary in East London South Africa, we provide tailored mining solutions to the resources industry. PMC provides technical mining solutions across the project mining life cycle from early-stage concept studies through development and operations under the following disciplines:
Pharos was a lighthouse constructed in the city of Alexandria in Ancient Egypt, considered one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world. Standing over 100m tall, the lighthouse was built on the island of Pharos and soon the building itself acquired that name. The Egyptian coastline was very straight and did not have mountains that could be used as lookout points. Shallow spots and reefs also dominated the area, making it difficult and treacherous for ships to navigate the waters. The Pharos (lighthouse) was built to help ships navigate these treacherous waters.
This is symbolic of our mission as a company. We exist to help our clients navigate technical mining risks (safety, financial and reputation). We aim to be a guide just like the Ancient Pharos.
To become global leaders in providing technical mining solutions, driven by the expertise and practical experience of our people.
Like Pharos (lighthouse),we help our clients identify and navigate mining risks. Combining technical expertise and coalface experience, we add value by providing technical mining solutions to mitigate risk and optimise the underlying resource value.
